Bakari

In 1800’s Virginia, Bakari, a runaway slave, is forced to flee the plantation after a failed escape attempt ends with the death of his wife, Imani. Scorned by the circumstances of his imprisonment and loss, Bakari is forced to confront not only his pursuers, but his sense of pride, powerlessness, and loss of identity to fulfill his promise to his wife; that they will one day return to Africa.
